Delete An "undeletable" File

Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open.
Close all open programs.
Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE
Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe.
Leave Task Manager open.
Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in.
At the command prompt type DEL where is the file you wish to delete.
Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell.
Close Task Manager.


For those who are not Linux funs they might want to delete the partition on the the hard drive or they might delete this if the operating system does not support the hardware. Deleting the partition result to a GRUB error shown below.

Now to restore the partition you should follow these steps.
  1. Insert a window 7 installation cd  and boot from cd drive by pressing F8 from the boot menu
  2.   Click next and click the Repair your computer.

3. Click next  ,next  until you arrive to this dialog box

4.       Click ok, and choose the command prompt.
5     At the command the command prompt type the following commands bootrec.exe  /FixBoot then click enter followed by this second command bootrec.exe  /FixMbr  and restart the computer.

NB. This method works with windows vista but not xp
